WHO YOU THINK I AM will be the opening film of the next edition of Biografilm Festival (Bologna, 7-17 June 2019). Following its recent World Premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in tribute to the president of the Jury, Juliette Binoche, who is the film’s protagonist, the film will soon be released in Italy by I Wonder Pictures.
The Oscar-winning French actress takes on another memorable role, that of Claire, a glorious woman in her fifties who – getting "caught up" in Internet’s fickle web – slashes her age in half and masquerades as a twenty-something-year-old on a false social media profile.
Based on the novel by the same name written by Camille Laurens, the film, directed by Safy Nebbou, tells the story of an amiable and refined fifty-year-old single mother-of-two drifting into the virtual social media world, following her from different perspectives. Although all their exchanges are virtual, the feelings that blossom between Claire and the guy she “meets" online, are genuine. Claire succumbs to the charm of his parallel world, until reality starts to blur...
