Bio to B - Industry Days is the annual appointment that Biografilm Festival dedicates to networking, discussion and updating of the European documentary audiovisual market.
Starting in 2014, the event has grown, developing new appointments and tools to support producers and authors, focusing above all on internationalisation and promoting the diffusion and sale of the national product in the European context.
In its 10 years of activity, more than 158 documentary, docuseries and biopic projects have been presented in front of an audience of more than 4000 audiovisual professionals, both Italian and international. Producers and authors have achieved their goals by interacting with 500 decision makers (commissioning editors, distributors, festival representatives, platforms, national and regional promotion institutes) active on the European documentary market.
The event, also in 2024, will consist of various appointments including panels, round tables, workshops, business-to-business networking events and presentations. The Pitching Forum is at the heart of the event, a public presentation of 20 European documentary projects seeking co-productions, partnerships and acquisitions in front of an audience of industry decision-makers, such as international salespeople, representatives of public and private TV and OTT, producers and festival representatives.
Following the forum, one-to-one meetings between the producers of the documentary projects presented and interested decision makers.
In addition, the Make It Real Award 2024 will be presented to professionals who have distinguished themselves in the field of documentary film production and distribution.
An entire day will be dedicated, as it has been for the past two years, to From Book to Film, an appointment focusing on the proposal and research of stories for audiovisual works, with editors, literary agents and film producers as protagonists. This event is divided into three parts: Adaptation Market, a networking event dedicated to film adaptation and transposition rights, in which to propose, sell and acquire published stories and original subjects destined for both the publishing and audiovisual markets; Fiction Factory, presentation of a selection of original fiction subjects destined for cinema and publishing; Docs for Real, presentation of a selection of documentary subjects destined for cinema and publishing.
