Association Fanatic About Festivals - AFAF
The Associazione Fanatic About Festivals was established in 2004 with the cultural and socially useful purpose of promoting cinema and film culture through the organisation of cultural, film, entertainment, training and educational events and initiatives. Since 2005, the Association has been organising and promoting Biografilm Festival, which takes place every year in June in Bologna, the international film event dedicated to contemporary stories that bear witness to the social, political and environmental changes taking place.
Also organised by AFAF is Bio to B - Industry Days, the annual appointment that Biografilm Festival dedicates to networking, confrontation and updating of the European documentary audiovisual market.
Since 2012 Biografilm has developed numerous educational projects of social inclusion in collaboration with local realities, aimed in particular at young people and migrants (Biografilm School, Biografilm Kids, Biografilm Welcome), but also at the over 60s (Biofilm Old School). Since 2020, the Association has extended its film-themed training activities, acting both as leader and partner. Thus the Biografilm Campus training division was born, which offers a range of film-related training courses throughout the year and in different contexts. Starting from the fundamental concepts of inclusion, participation and confrontation, the objective that unites all the projects is to enhance and support the talent and creativity of the young generations, making them feel protagonists of the present and future of society. In particular, AFAF organises Biografilm Academy, a free advanced training course to get to know the world of film festivals and become part of it.
Throughout the year, in addition to its educational activities, AFAF designs, organises and promotes film festivals and events, in collaboration with: POP UP CINEMA, a circuit of theatres in Bologna managed by the Black Mamba and Montegrappa companies, a true cultural stronghold where the public can interact with great cinema; I Wonder Pictures, a distribution that brings the best of biographical and documentary cinema to Italian theatres; The Culture Business (TCB srl), whose activity has always focused on the cinema and audiovisual sector, declining its expertise in all the different aspects of the supply chain and market.
