"I've never seen anything like it." These are the words of the police officer that arrived at the scene of suicide of New York artist Ruth Litoff. In December 2008 she took her life in her own apartment, after having set it up as a beautiful ‘stage’, leaving notes and gifts for her loved ones and even food for the cat. Six years later the dead woman’s sister, Hope, who directed this film, begins a journey into Ruth's life, into the highs and lows, secrets and lies, to come to terms with that tragedy in an exploration of her artwork, her belongings, her photographs, through interviews with friends and family memories. Could it have gone differently? This perpetual question finds unexpected answers.
