The project

The Pitching Forum is the central public presentation moment of the selected projects within Bio to B – Industry Days | Doc. Up to 20 European documentary and docu-series projects are presented to an international audience composed of producers, commissioning editors, sales agents, festival representatives, Film Commissions and institutions. Selected teams take part in the Pitching Lab, an online preparation programme designed to support the projects in the lead-up to the public presentation, followed by Q&A sessions and one-to-one meetings with the experts attending the market.

The selection process is currently underway: selected authors will be contacted starting from April 6  to confirm their participation.The official results will be announced after April 20.

Selection and participation

The selection process takes into account the artistic value and originality of the project, its market potential, the quality of the submitted materials and the experience of the creative team. Selected teams will receive two Bio to B | Doc accreditations, a personalised schedule of one-to-one meetings, access to networking activities and participation in the Pitching Lab. Attendance is required for all online training sessions and for the full duration of Bio to B – Industry Days | Doc (June 8–10, 2026, Bologna).

Best International Pitch Award 2026 powered by BPER Banca

Awarded to the international project that stands out for artistic vision, production potential, and strong appeal for the global market. The prize includes a €2,000 financial contribution to support the development and realization of the project.

TOP DOC Prime Video Channel Award 2026

Awarded by the TOP DOC Prime Video Channel to a documentary project selected by the channel’s curators. It includes a €1,000 contribution to support the development and realization of the winning project.

LaserFilm Award 2026

Award for the best project in an advanced stage within the Pitching Forum, offering three days of color correction services valued at €6,000, along with discounted rates for any additional days required.

ADCOM Award 2026

Award for the best Emilia‑Romagna–based production presented in the Pitching Forum, offering ADCOM equipment and services valued €3,000.

 

EcoMuvi Award 2026

Award for the best early‑stage project that stands out for its focus on environmental sustainability and sustainable development potential. The prize consists of a specialized consultancy programme, built around services and tools tailored to the specific needs of the winning project.

 

DAE - Documentary Association of Europe Award 2026

Award that grants the selected project access to the DAE community, including a one‑year membership and professional mentorship and consultancy tailored to its development needs.

 

Impronta Film Award 2026

Award designed to provide concrete support to documentary projects in their final stages, helping them complete the technical process and prepare for international distribution. It includes a consultancy programme of six meetings over the course of one year.

 

MIA Market @ Bio to B | Doc Award 2026

Award that grants privileged access to the MIA Market in Rome for the project with the strongest international potential, including a non‑competitive invitation to the market, presence in the official catalogue, and two free industry accreditations.

 

Visioni Incontra @ Bio to B | Doc Award 2026

Award that ensures participation in the Visioni Incontra market in Milan, fostering professional connections and development opportunities. It includes a non‑competitive invitation to the market, presence in the official catalogue, and two free industry accreditations.

 

Rising Talents Special Mention

Special mention awarded to an emerging project that stands out for the freshness of its vision, its innovative approach, and its strong authorial quality.
