A journey through the ethical, cultural, and environmental challenges of contemporary fashion, guided by the visionary figure of Rosa Genoni, pioneer of Made in Italy and a feminist ahead of her time. In the early decades of the 20th century, Rosa sought to free Italian fashion from subordination to the French model, creating a new aesthetic and philosophy rooted in the artistic, craft, and manufacturing traditions of Italy. With the presence of Valeria Golino the documentary builds a lively dialogue between past and present: a collective narrative in which Rosa’s story is reflected in the women who today carry forward her legacy – Maria Grazia Chiuri, Karishma Swali, Rosi Braidotti, Cathy La Torre, Vanessa Gavioli, Anneke Smelik – each interpreting, in her own way, an act of freedom and vision. At the heart of the film is the rebirth of the “Tànagra” dress, a manifesto of Genoni’s vision: a garment that, in 1906, sought to free women from the corset and the constraints of the era.
