The Consciousness of David Lynch is a feature documentary exploring the inner world of one of the most influential and enigmatic figure of modern cinema. Based on two unreleased interviews conducted in Rome in 2015 by Marco Spagnoli and Rüdiger Sturm, the film presents an intimate, philosophical portrait of Lynch as both filmmaker and spiritual seeker. Navigating through Lynch’s own words themes like the search of happiness, love and violence, the mysteries of creation and transcendence, and the meaning of death, these conversations offer unprecedented access to his artistic vision. The documentary includes interviews with masters like Scorsese, Sofia Coppola, Sorrentino, Tarantino, Wim Wenders, Julia Ducournau and others. By weaving together Lynch’s voice with those of his peers and admirers, and combining archive materials and symbolic imagery, the film stands as a final, necessary dialogue with a global visionary.
