Biografilm is approaching the end of this edition, but before saying goodbye there is still room for a day full of emotions. Today, we look forward to welcoming you for a special encore screening of Everybody to Kenmure Street and for one of the festival’s most anticipated events: the Awards Ceremony, celebrating the films and works that have won over juries and audiences throughout these past days.
At 3:00 PM, at Cinema Lumière – Sala Scorsese, Everybody to Kenmure Street by Felipe Bustos Sierra returns to the big screen. Competing in the Biografilm International Competition, the documentary recounts the events that unfolded in Glasgow in May 2021, when an immigration raid in the city’s most multicultural neighborhood sparked an extraordinary grassroots mobilization. Hundreds of residents took to the streets to prevent the deportation of two neighbors, turning a local incident into a powerful story of solidarity, participation, and civil resistance. A second opportunity to discover one of the most compelling titles of this year’s edition.
The evening continues at 8:00 PM at the Biografilm Hera Theatre | Pop Up Cinema Arlecchino with the Awards Ceremony, the moment when the festival will reveal the winners of its various competitive sections. The ceremony will be followed by a screening of The Revolution Against Death, the new short film by Joshua Oppenheimer, one of the most influential and innovative voices in contemporary documentary cinema.
And it is not yet time to say farewell. Tomorrow, Biografilm will celebrate its final day with a special event in Piazza Maggiore: the presentation of the Celebration of Lives Award to Kaouther Ben Hania, followed by a screening of The Voice of Hind Rajab, in what promises to be one of the most moving and meaningful moments of this edition.
We look forward to celebrating together the cinema, the stories, and the people who have made this edition of Biografilm truly unique.
