3 FREE WEBINARS FOR THE EDUCATIONAL COMMUNITY ON USING FILM AS A TOOL FOR EDUCATION IN ACTIVE CITIZENSHIP AND ETHICAL MEDIA USE

Within the framework of the National Cinema and Images for Schools Plan promoted by MiC and MIM, Biografilm Generazioni Digitali offers 3 free training webinars, in collaboration with Caracò and Archilabò, and distributed through educativvu.
The three sessions are aimed at teachers of all school levels (who can obtain training credits via the S.O.F.I.A. platform), the educational community, and families. Registration for the webinars is available via dedicated Google Forms below. The access link will be sent to the email provided during registration one day before the event.

Tuesday 10 February, 5:00–7:30 PM | How to talk about diversity and address discrimination in the classroom, led by Dr. Gaia Farina (University of Padua, Department of FISPPA) Registration: link to the form to be filled in

Target audience: teachers of all school levels, educational community, families.
This training explores diversity and discrimination based on action-research carried out by the researcher in Italian schools. Through children’s voices, video interviews, and teaching practices, the session provides tools to recognize processes of racialization, move beyond oversimplified approaches, and foster a sense of justice and dialogue in the classroom.
The session will be preceded by a brief presentation of the teaching kit biografilmgenerazionidigitali.it and the in-class streaming platform IWonderScuole, an integral part of the project.
Gaia Farina is adjunct lecturer in Sociology at the University of Padua and research fellow in the PRIN project on mobility and borders. She holds a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Padua and a degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Bologna. Her work focuses on migration, racism and anti-racism, youth and media studies, using collaborative and visual methods. In collaboration with Annalisa Frisina and Alessio Surian, she developed an anti-racism school kit, contributing to teacher training on inclusive educational practices and digital tools.

Target audience: teachers of all school levels, educational community, families.
This training provides guidelines on how to use film in schools: films as a teaching support, a tool to develop critical thinking and empathetic listening, and a starting point for self-narrative activities. Film, used as an active learning tool, can become the voice and perspective of students, helping them share emotions, identities, and their way of seeing the world.
Paolo Martinelli holds a PhD in Philosophy, Science, Cognition and Semiotics and conducts research in interpretative and cognitive semiotics. His interests include digital transformation of culture, new literacies, digital inclusion, and learning processes. He is involved in national and international research projects and collaborates with European institutions. He is president of the social cooperative Archilabò.
Simone Soranna is a certified Visual Education at School practitioner and teaches Film at the University of Milan and the Catholic University of Milan. He is editor-in-chief of CineCriticaWeb, journalist, and correspondent for Sky Cinema. He founded the longtake.it platform and is the author of books on animated cinema. He collaborates with festivals, cultural institutions, and cinemas, working on programming, criticism, and cultural promotion.
Adriano Sforzi is a director and certified Visual Education at School practitioner, active in film education and training. He collaborates with Pop Up Cinema Scuole, the Bologna Film Archive, and the “Florestano Vancini” Film School. He has extensive experience as a filmmaker and director of award-winning short films and documentaries, including Jody delle giostre (David di Donatello 2011) and L’equilibrio del cucchiaino (Audience Award and Jury Prize, Biografilm Festival 2015). He has worked with Ermanno Olmi, Guido Chiesa, and Luca Lucini. His work combines artistic research, social engagement, and audiovisual education.

Target audience: teachers of all school levels, educational community, families.
This session focuses on ethical media use and the psychological impact that online audiovisual content has on minors. It will analyze key risks related to digital identity, privacy, virality, and artificial intelligence. It will also provide educational tools aimed at promoting a critical and conscious use of digital media.
Letizia Atti is a pedagogist and trainer specializing in the educational, psychological, and social aspects of the web. She collaborates with regional education authorities and Telefono Azzurro on digital education projects. Since 2009 she has delivered training courses for schools, families, and companies on digital citizenship, focusing on online risks, emotions and relationships, well-being, and digital awareness. She also offers consultancy and tailored programs for parents to build a family digital education plan.
