Fiction Factory Showcase

The project

The Fiction Factory Showcase is a presentation platform for original fiction concepts developed for film, series, and publishing.

Through a national open call, Bio to B selects a shortlist of projects that take part in a preparation programme before being publicly presented to audiovisual producers, publishers, rights managers, literary agencies, IP and talent scouts, story editors, and professionals from film production companies, television, broadcast TV, and OTT platforms, with the aim of fostering meetings, option agreements, and concrete development opportunities.

Selected authors take part in a pitch preparation programme and present their projects during the Showcase, followed by a final award ceremony and networking opportunities with attending industry professionals, including one-to-one meetings.

Call for Entries and registration

The selection takes into account the quality of the writing, the originality of the concept, the narrative strength, and the production potential of the project. The selected authors receive accreditation to Bio to B | Drama, which includes participation in the Showcase to present their project to the audience of accredited professionals, as well as access to networking activities, panels, and content. Attendance is required for the entire duration of Bio to B – Industry Days | Drama (June 8–9, 2026, Bologna).

Premi

Bassani Award

We are proud to announce a new and prestigious collaboration for Bio to B – Industry Days | Drama: the Fondazione Giorgio Bassani joins the Fiction Factory Audience Award, which officially becomes the Bassani Award.

An author who, more than many others, embodied the dialogue between writing and images, Giorgio Bassani was able to transform the page into cinema with works such as The Garden of the Finzi-Continis, The Gold Rimmed Glasses, and A Night in ’43, all of which became celebrated films. The bridge he built between literature and audiovisual media perfectly represents the transformative spirit that the Fiction Factory Showcase aims to highlight. On the 110th anniversary of the writer’s birth, the Bassani Award was established to celebrate this vocation and will be given to the best original concept capable of thriving both on the page and on screen.

The selected project will receive a €1,000 financial contribution for development. With your original concept, you could win the Bassani Award!
