On the night of October 13, 1990, Luisa has just given birth to her second son. In the maternity ward in Montichiari, everything seems suspended in a fragile quiet, until something unnameable pushes her toward the window. At just 19 years old, Luisa takes her own life. Alberto and his brother are adopted by a family from Bergamo and grow up with no memory of their biological family. More than thirty years later, Alberto returns to where it all began to question that void. Through places, photographs, and testimonies, the documentary composes the portrait of an absence: a broken family history in which bonds continue to speak even beyond death.
