Volterra Prison, Tuscany. Thirty-seven years ago, theater director Armando Punzo decided to “lock himself up” to transform the lives of inmates. Through his passion, men serving long sentences confront their condition by filling the void with performance, creativity, and imagination. The prison becomes an ideal space for creation to transcend reality, where inmates can travel through the countless worlds of stage design and embrace new identities through their characters – all within four walls. Thanks to Punzo’s determination, these walls become a space for greater actions, where they can experiment with new lives.
