Romería (Romería – Il mare dei ricordi)
Marina, eighteen years old and orphaned at a very young age, travels to Galicia in search of her biological father’s family. While meeting aunts, uncles, and relatives previously unknown to her, she attempts to piece together the sometimes contradictory memories of her parents and their overwhelming love, bringing to light long-buried family emotions, unspoken truths, and wounds that never fully healed. Golden Bear-winning director Carla Simón directs with the gentle rhythm of a placid tide, creating an intense, intimate, and personal film. It is a story about rediscovered roots, family bonds, and the things we lack the courage to say out loud, even when we need to the most.
