FIVI – Federazione Italiana dei Vignaioli Indipendenti
FIVI- the “Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti” (Italian Federation of Independent Winemakers) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2008. Its mission is to promote and protect the role, work, interests, and technical and economic needs of the Italian independent winemaker—defined as a producer who oversees the entire wine production cycle, from grape cultivation to bottling and marketing of the final product. Currently, there are more than 1,800 member producers from all Italian regions, representing a total of over 18,000 hectares of vineyards. The FIVI logo depicts “Ampelio,” the image of a winemaker carrying a basket of grapes on his head, whose shadow takes the shape of a bottle. This figure encapsulates everything that being a winemaker means to FIVI: individuals engaged daily in a process that spans the entire production chain, working tirelessly to preserve, protect, and promote their local territory.
