The Good Body – Giuseppe Bertolucci Walking with Eve Ensler
Billions of women, forced by the media to pursue the globalized model of the perfect body, fuel the enormous business of cosmetics, diets, fitness, and cosmetic surgery every day; they desperately attempt to correct their “flawed” bodies, even at the risk of their lives. The Good Body, a play based on the book by the scandalous Eve Ensler, premiered in Naples in 2007 and toured Italian museums, staging women’s obsessions with the body. The documentary revisits that visionary work with new images and reflects on the question: What is the “right” body? Tragic and ironic, the film is a cry of rebellion, a desire for change, a call to all women.
