Born in 1987, Maximilien Dejoie, after studying acting, theater history, and photography, began working as a camera operator, editor, and director of television documentaries. His feature film directorial debut came in 2011 with The Gerber Syndrome, distributed in over 40 countries and which has since become a small cult film. In 2016, he co-directed the documentary When We Talk About KGB, followed in 2021 by I’ll Stand by You, both screened and awarded at numerous international festivals, including the Seattle International Film Festival, DOK.fest München, Trieste Film Festival, and Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, among many others. In 2025, he presented his latest documentary, Everything Works Out (In the End), and will soon begin production on Ting, his second fiction feature.
