Giulia Scomazzon was born in Vicenza in 1987. She holds a PhD in Literature and Media and in 2021 published Crimine, colpa e testimonianza with Mimesis, an essay on true crime and the media construction of guilt. In 2023 she made her literary debut with La paura ferisce come un coltello arrugginito (nottetempo), a memoir about her mother Roberta, who died of AIDS when the author was a child; the book won the Premio Bagutta Opera Prima. In 2025 she published 8.6 gradi di separazione with nottetempo, a novel about addiction set in the Veneto province, winner of the Venetarium Labomar and finalist for the Premio letterario internazionale Valle d’Aosta.
