Gianpaolo Bigoli (Parma, 1979) is a director and producer. Trained at Ermanno Olmi’s Ipotesi Cinema school, since 2006 he has been making short films and narrative documentaries focused on social issues and the intimate, human dimension of stories. His works include Lovebirds – Rebel Lovers in India, which premiered at IDFA and received awards at international festivals. In 2016 he directed Rachel’s Hiv Revolution for Al Jazeera English, nominated for the One World Media Award. In 2025, Quel che resta received a Special Mention at the Premio Libero Bizzarri and was broadcast on Rai 5 and RaiPlay.
