Giuliana Fantoni was born in Varese and lives between Bologna and Antananarivo. After studying photography at CFP Bauer in Milan, she attended the Documentary Filmmaking program at Bottega Finzioni in Bologna. She works between Italy and Madagascar as coordinator and selector of the Madagascourt Film Festival, and as executive producer and director for the production company Rozifilms. She has directed the short films Shapes Recording (2013), La terza riva (2015), and Celestino (2021), selected in several national film festivals, as well as the medium-length film Ravone (2025), which premiered at the Visioni Italiane festival in Bologna.
