American Doctor

A vérité documentary following three esteemed physicians: a Palestinian, a Jew, and a Zoroastrian. Despite their deep differences, these friends are bound by a shared oath to save lives. Dr. Thaer Ahmad is composed and strategic; Dr. Mark Perlmutter is outspoken and wears his heart on his sleeve; Dr. Feroze Sidhwa is an expert and prolific communicator. Through direct on-the-ground footage, the film follows them from the besieged hospitals of Gaza to the halls of the U.S. Congress. Together, they struggle to keep the promise made to their Palestinian colleagues and patients: to continue the battle in the United States.
