Company Wildside Founded in 2009, Wildside has produced award-winning films with talents such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Marco Bellocchio, and Saverio Costanzo, taking part in Europe’s leading film festivals, including Cannes, Venice, and Berlin. Wildside is part of Fremantle, one of the world’s largest creators, producers, and distributors of television content. The company has also produced several successful comedies, including the 2014 European Film Award winner for Best Comedy, The Mafia Kills Only in Summer by Pif, and the highest-grossing Italian film of 2018, Like a Cat on a Highway by Riccardo Milani, starring the comic duo Paola Cortellesi and Antonio Albanese. In 2022, Wildside produced The Eight Mountains by Felix van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch, winner of the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and the David di Donatello Award for Best Film. In 2023, it produced the year’s biggest box-office hit and critical success, There’s Still Tomorrow, the directorial debut of Paola Cortellesi. In 2024, Wildside co-produced A World Apart by Riccardo Milani, Finally Dawn by Saverio Costanzo, and Limonov by Kirill Serebrennikov. Among its 2025 productions are The Forbidden City by Gabriele Mainetti, An Upside-Down Family by Alessandro Genovesi, Paternal Leave — the directorial debut of Alissa Jung and winner of the AG Kino-Gilde – Cinema Vision 14plus Award at the Berlin Film Festival — and The Eyes of Others by Andrea De Sica, winner of the Best Actress Award at the Rome Film Fest and set for theatrical release on March 19, 2026. Wildside has also established itself as a major player in television drama, producing for HBO The Young Pope and The New Pope by Academy Award winner Paolo Sorrentino; My Brilliant Friend by Saverio Costanzo, based on Elena Ferrante’s tetralogy; The Miracle, the television debut of writer Niccolò Ammaniti, acclaimed by audiences and critics alike; the first and second seasons of The Mafia Kills Only in Summer; I Topi, the first TV series written, directed, and starring Antonio Albanese; Luca Guadagnino’s We Are Who We Are; Anna by Niccolò Ammaniti; and The Good Mothers, directed by Elisa Amoruso and Julian Jarrold, winner of the 2023 Berlinale Series Award and nominated for the Critics Choice Awards. In 2025, the company also produced Piedone – A Cop in Naples, created by Beppe Fiore and directed by Alessio Maria Federici, and Before Us, based on the novel by Giorgio Fontana and directed by Daniele Luchetti and Valia Santella.
