Maria Slaveva Makedonska

Maria Makedonska is a Bulgarian writer, artist, and filmmaker whose practice integrates documentary, text, memory research, and community-based work. Her projects explore the relationship between personal and collective memory, focusing on abandoned places, disappearing rituals, and marginalized voices through film, writing, and participatory artistic forms. Alongside her film work, she develops interdisciplinary projects focused on place, storytelling, and social engagement.
