Aplysia was founded in 2007 as a network of audiovisual professionals coordinated by project manager and producer Giuseppe Petruzzellis. A fluid structure, mainly composed of filmmakers resident in Emilia Romagna.
Numerous collaborations and co-productions on a national and international level, with a strong focus on auteur documentaries and on anthropological, social, artistic and ecological issues. In 2020 Aplysia became a production company. In 2023 Aplysia is the majority producer (in co-production with the Turin-based company EiE Film) of La Ricerca by Giuseppe Petruzzellis (World Premiere and Special Youth Jury Prize at Visions du Réel, the Grand Prix at Le FIFA, Special Mention Hera New Talents at BIOGRAFILM, Best Editing at Documentaria, and the Andrea Pazienza Award at the Libero Bizzarri Prize).

She collaborates with Aplysia and ZaLab since 2020 as project manager and delegate producer. Graduated at the Master in European Project Management for Culture at the University of Perugia in 2025. From 2016 to 2023 she was first Coordinator and then Delegate for International Relations at Doc/it–Italian Documentary Association. She has worked in the production of 3 feature docs: Tutti i nostri affanni by Davide Crudetti and Paola Di Mitri, 2021 There’s nothing special here by Davide Crudetti, 2022 La Ricerca by Giuseppe Petruzzellis, 2023 Wind and Water by Giuseppe Petruzzellis, in development.
