Liberated Space

In 1989, a feminist project was born within a squat in Bremen, now brought back to life through private archive footage. The film offers an in-depth look at the turbulent early nineties and the achievements of a visionary and determined group of women. We witness the creation of a unique space—defined by self-help workshops, art projects, and events—followed by the shattering of a dream of an alternative life due to the building’s eviction. Today, four of these women invite us into their daily lives, engaging in a dialogue with a new generation running a collective housing project in the countryside.
