On Monday, June 15 at 9:45 PM, the magnificent setting of Piazza Maggiore will welcome Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania, who will attend Biografilm to present The Voice of Hind Rajab (89′, 2025), alongside the film’s producer, Nadim Cheikhrouha.
Presented in collaboration with Cineteca di Bologna and I Wonder Pictures, which will distribute the film in Italian cinemas, the screening will bring the 22nd edition of Biografilm to a close and officially inaugurate the new season of Sotto le stelle del Cinema (Under the Stars of Cinema).
Winner of the Silver Lion – Grand Jury Prize at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival and selected as Tunisia’s submission for the 2026 Academy Award for Best International Feature Film, The Voice of Hind Rajab is a work of extraordinary cinematic and civic power. Through a rigorous and compelling narrative approach, the film restores memory and dignity to the story of Hind Rajab, the six-year-old Palestinian girl killed in Gaza in January 2024.
When Red Crescent volunteers receive a distress call from a young girl trapped under gunfire, a story unfolds that moved people around the world. While the events on screen are reenacted by professional actors, the voice heard on the other end of the phone is Hind’s actual recorded voice. Her real presence runs throughout the film, deepening its emotional impact and transforming cinema into a powerful act of testimony and remembrance.
On this occasion, Kaouther Ben Hania will receive the Celebration of Lives Award 2026, Biografilm’s annual recognition honoring filmmakers and storytellers who have left a profound mark on documentary cinema and the art of portraying real life.
Admission to the screening is free, subject to venue capacity. A special event that will celebrate the conclusion of Biografilm 2026 with one of the year’s most urgent and significant films.
