08 June 2025
On Sunday 8 June, Biografilm gets into full swing with music, previews and many guests and filmmakers present.
At 9 pm at the Modernissimo, Together (102', 2025), one of the most eagerly awaited films of the Festival will be screened in the presence of director Michael Shanks. Premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, it immediately met with international acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Distributed by NEON in the United States, it will be released in Italy by I Wonder Pictures in the autumn of this year. Michael Shanks' directorial debut is a daring and disturbing film that reinvents the couple's relationship as a flesh-and-blood bond. Tim and Millie (Dave Franco and Alison Brie) move to the country to make a fresh start, but a supernatural encounter in the woods literally merges them with each other. A claustrophobic journey between body horror and romantic tragedy, where love becomes condemnation.
At 5 pm at the BIOGRAFILM HERA THEATRE Pop Up Cinema Arlecchino the world premiere of Il faro - Il fantastico viaggio della Banda Rulli Frulli (72', 2025) by Gianluca Marcon and Diego Gavioli. In the lands wounded by the earthquake in Emilia, a musician searches for abandoned objects in the ecological islands and transforms them into musical instruments, giving life to the Banda Rulli Frulli: a group of boys and girls of all colours, genders and abilities that lights up stages all over Italy. Not only a band, but also a model of inclusion. Directors Gianluca Marcon and Diego Gavioli will be present. Preceding the screening of the film, the Banda Rulli Frulli will entertain us with a rhythmic performance.
At 6.30 p.m. at the Cinema Lumière in Sala Mastroianni, the film Canone effimero by Gianluca and Massimiliano De Serio will have its Italian premiere. The film received a Special Mention in the Documentary Competition at the 75th Berlin Film Festival and was a great success with audiences and critics. A journey to discover a hidden, invisible Italy, far from current narratives. The film highlights the polyphonic traditions of various Italian regions, challenging their marginalisation. The film will be presented with double subtitles: Italian subtitles for deaf people, thanks to FIADDA, and English subtitles, with the intention of making the film accessible to the festival's international audience. The screening is in collaboration with IT.A.CÀ., Yoda APS and Longtake. The directors and Paolo Manera, director of Film Commission Torino Piemonte, will be present. A singing performance by the Compagnia Sacco di Ceriana will precede the screening of the film.
