Day 11 - monday, June 16

Biografilm concludes its 21st edition with the combination of international and local stories that also made this edition capable of intercepting the nuances of the contemporary.

On Monday 16 June, the evening at the BIOGRAFILM HERA THEATRE | Pop Up Cinema Arlecchino begins at 5 p.m. with Evanescent Moments (52', 2025) by Gábor Zsigmond Papp (present in the auditorium) and Zsuzsanna Bak. The story is that of Susanna Egri, 99 years old, a past marked by racial persecution and the tragic death of her father in the Grande Torino disaster. She turned pain into art. She founded a dance company, created memorable choreographies and trained three generations of dancers. Today she celebrates 75 years of her career.

Also at the BIOGRAFILM HERA THEATRE | Pop Up Cinema Arlecchino at 19:00 Hard to Break (81', 2024) by Anna-Maija Heinonen and Krista Moisio. In an attempt to bond with their peers, two Finnish teenagers become entangled in addiction and violence. As the carefreeness of adolescence fades, Atte and Jonsu are confronted with the harsh realities of adulthood and discover an unexpected strength that pushes them not to give up.

To follow at 9.00 p.m. by the screening of Escape for a Goal (62', 2025) by Stefano Liberti and Mario Poeta. It is the story of sisters Zaynab and Maryam, two Afghan footballers who play in the Herat women's team. When the Taliban return to power in Afghanistan, they decide to flee the regime. Maryam manages to board a flight to Italy, while Zaynab stays behind. The film follows their parallel and separate lives between Afghanistan and Europe. The event, in the presence of the directors, is held on World Refugee Day and in collaboration with ASP Città di Bologna, BolognaCares! and organised by Arca di Noè for Consorzio l'Arcolaio. Free admission with reservation at ingressi@biografilm.it (indicating the name of the event in the subject line).
