Day 10 - Sunday 16 June

SUNDAY 16 JUNE Biografilm draws to a close with three films full of meaning and the awards ceremony

The penultimate day of the festival will open at 4:30 p.m. at the Cinema Lumière - Sala Mastroianni with Lui semplicemente io by Matteo Parisini. The film, a world premiere at Biografilm, takes its cue from the local school reality. The students of the ITE Salvemini of Casalecchio di Reno stage a story that really happened, which tells how the appreciation of beauty is an educational expedient much more effective than any punishment. The director and the entire cast will be present in the movie theater. The screening is closed to children under 14 and accessible to TEEN season ticket holders. Film and debate will be subtitled for people with hearing difficulties by FIADDA Emilia-Romagna.

Giampaolo Penco's Il frastuono e il silenzio will be screened at 5 p.m. at Cinema Lumière - Sala Scorsese. The documentary, a world premiere at Biografilm, offers an intimate and never-before-seen portrait of Toni Negri, considered a master villain in Italy and recognised as a master of political philosophy in the world. While in his home in Paris, 90 years old and ill, he holds all the threads that bind him to his many lives. The screening will be enriched by the presence of the director, Sandro Mezzadra, Professor of Political Philosophy at the University of Bologna, and Alisa Del Re, senior scholar at the University of Padua.

It is time to take stock. At 8 p.m., at the BIOGRAFILM HERA THEATRE | Pop Up Cinema Arlecchino, the awards ceremony of the 20th edition of Biografilm will take place, with the assignment of the prizes awarded by the various juries. The event will be followed by the screening of Turn in the Wound by Abel Ferrara. The documentary, in its Italian premiere at Biografilm, is an emotional reflection on the yearning for freedom in the face of violence, on the experience of war, searching for meaning in suffering. It is accompanied by the voice of Patti Smith, who joins the words of soldiers and those living in the combat zones of Ukraine. The director and producer Maurizio Antonini will be present in the movie theater.
