Because a podcast can be a film—and vice versa.
With this vision, Biografilm Festival launches the Biografilm Podcast Award, a new prize dedicated to original podcasts that tell life stories through the evocative power of sound and imagination. Developed with the consultancy of writer and podcaster Jadel Andreetto and in dialogue with Bio to B – Industry Days | Drama, the award aims to highlight a constantly evolving narrative form and strengthen the connection between cinema and audio storytelling.
The final event will take place on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Biografilm Hera Theatre | PopUp Cinema Arlecchino in Bologna, featuring live listening sessions, talks, and the award ceremony, where the winning projects—selected by a jury of industry professionals—will be announced. The open call is addressed to authors, collectives, and production companies of any nationality. Eligible submissions include original podcasts (released or unreleased), consisting of at least three episodes, produced after January 1, 2025, and focused on life stories.
The deadline to apply is Monday, May 11, 2026, at 5:00 PM (CET). Applications must be submitted by completing the dedicated online form available at this link. Up to eight podcasts will be selected for the official selection and presented during the event.
