The cover of the 22nd edition of Biografilm originates from a visual communication project that interprets and conveys the themes and identity of the Festival through the language of illustration. The image is conceived as an essential narrative synthesis, designed to translate into visual form the values and perspectives that define this edition, inviting a thoughtful and conscious gaze. In this direction, the official image of this year’s edition—taking place from June 5 to 15, 2026—captures the very essence of the Festival.
It is created by the young illustrator from Brescia, Maria Giulia Pedrotti, known as Gitti, a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna. Her work stems from a concept developed together with the Biografilm team and takes shape as a true window onto the complexity of the contemporary world. It is not just an image, but a deliberate gesture: a symbolic opening that invites the viewer to observe reality with depth, critical thinking, and sensitivity. This window becomes a metaphor for the experience Biografilm has offered for over twenty years: a space for encounter and dialogue where documentary cinema becomes a tool for exploration, capable of telling authentic stories and offering multiple perspectives. In a time marked by rapid and often difficult-to-interpret changes, the Festival reaffirms itself as a place to pause, understand, and connect.
To explore the creative concept in greater depth and discover the process behind the realization of the image, you can visit the dedicated Biografilm Creative Hub page, where the processes, collaborations, and vision behind this visual identity are described in detail.
