Biografilm Generazioni Digitali

The project

Generazioni Digitali is a local initiative by Biografilm (Association Fanatic About Festivals), developed in partnership with Archilabò, Associazione culturale QB – Animaphix, Associazione culturale Allelammie, Caracò, Centro Studi Interuniversitario di Diritto ed Economia di Pavia, Fondazione CSC – Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Palermo branch), I Wonder Pictures, Pop Up Cinema, Kopa, TCB – The Culture Business, the University of Padua, and Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna.

In its first edition, during the 2024/25 school year, the project involved schools of all levels across the provinces of Bologna, Reggio Emilia, and Parma, engaging more than 700 students.

The project is an educational programme for schools that uses cinema to encourage participatory reflection among students and teachers on inclusion and the fight against discrimination. Participants acquire technical skills in audiovisual language, while also developing awareness of the impact images have on our lives, becoming active citizens and builders of inclusive communities.

The teacher training programme and the classroom workshops focus on film language education and the experimentation of visual self-narration tools, alongside reflection on the ethical and conscious use of images shared online.

The project opens in Bologna with experiential training sessions for teachers and concludes with cinema screenings featuring guest speakers, organised with the active participation of all the classes involved.

The digital educational kit and the short films created by the classes are available online free of charge on the project website: https://biografilmgenerazionidigitali.it/

Schools of all levels across Emilia-Romagna can participate in the project.

The project is designed as a multi-year initiative.
