[active project]

The project aims to raise awareness of women's right to self-determination and gender equality through the use of film and audiovisual techniques. The aim is to collect and animate the stories of women who played a crucial role in significant moments of Italian history, such as the Risorgimento and the Resistance.

The project involves re-elaborating the biographies of some female figures linked to the history of Ferrara, re-reading them in a contemporary key and interweaving them with the events and battles for women's freedom and self-determination. In particular, the project focuses on two historical protagonists: Alda Costa, anti-fascist teacher and partisan, and Rosa Angelini, patriot and Garibaldi volunteer.

The project includes training and educational activities dedicated to students, aimed at developing skills in the cinematographic and audiovisual language. These activities will culminate in the production of animated short films made using STOP-MOTION and 3D animation techniques.

Drawing inspiration from the themes of memory as a space of identity and collective history, the project initiates a creative and reflective pathway through the tools of cinema and audiovisual, with the following objectives:

  • To bring the younger generations closer to the art and pedagogy of the image, promoting knowledge of visual production and dissemination techniques;

  • To develop and enhance skills in the field of cinema and audiovisual technologies, from the production to the diffusion of images and sounds;

  • To train a new conscious audience, capable of a critical understanding of the present and to dialogue with the ongoing ‘digital revolution’;

  • To offer a practical and theoretical knowledge of the different phases of the realisation of a film product, such as an animated short film.

The project is addressed to 4 classes (about 88 boys and girls) of the First Grade School of the Istituto Comprensivo ALDA COSTA and envisages, for each class, different activities: theory, workshop for filming and editing, projections and meetings with experts.

During the 21st edition of Biografilm, in Bologna from 6 to 16 June, the audiovisual works realised during the workshops by the students will be screened.

The project partners are: CNA FERRARA, UDI (Unione Donne d'Italia), MUSEO DEL RISORGIMENTO e DELLA RESISTENZA - COMUNE DI FERRARA, ASSOCIAZIONE FANATIC ABOUT FESTIVALS (BIOGRAFILM), MOODNIGHT STUDIO SRL, TRYECO 2.0 srl, ARCI FERRARA aps
