For Biografilm, documentary film is by nature a political tool, capable of observing and recounting the world around us.
That’s why we chose to present, together with IWonder Pictures and Pop Up Cinema, the special preview of NAZA, the new film by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, awarded the Special Jury Prize at the 83rd Venice Film Festival.
The film will be screened on Tuesday, September 15th, at 9:00 PM, at Pop Up Cinema Medica 4K (Via Monte Grappa 9, Bologna), and will be available in theaters from September 28th to 30th with IWonder Pictures.
Shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, the documentary exposes and examines the systems behind the systematic killing of Palestinian civilians by Israel in the Gaza Strip, through direct interviews with those who devised and carried out those systems.
In Venice, the directors stated:
We made this film driven by the duty to use our position as Israelis to examine the systems behind the mass killing of Palestinian civilians, for which our country is responsible. […] The film allows us to explore something deeper than investigative journalism alone: not only the words that were spoken, but also those left unsaid — the silence. It is up to all of us to break that silence.
