Joshua Oppenheimer returns to Biografilm with his first Italian premiere feature-length fiction film, The End. Leading actor George MacKay will be present in Bologna.
Joshua Oppenheimer returns to Biografilm for the Italian premiere of The End, the first fiction film by the celebrated documentary filmmaker who has already starred at the festival with The Look of Silence and The Act of Killing. The director will be accompanied by leading actor George MacKay, who stars in the film alongside Tilda Swinton, Michael Shannon and Moses Ingram. The film is distributed by I Wonder Pictures and Unipol Biografilm Collection and will be released in cinemas this summer.
In The End, the story of a family forced to live in a luxurious underground bunker after an environmental apocalypse becomes the starting point for exploring the most disturbing depths of the human soul, in line with the stylistic signature of the director's previous works.
The artwork created within the Biografilm Creative Hub project
The artwork for the 21st edition of Biografilm (6-16 June in Bologna) is inspired by the film's international poster and was created by the students of the Graphic Design course at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna, as part of Biografilm Creative Hub.
