The Fiction Factory Showcase is a presentation of original fiction stories designed for cinema, TV series, and publishing. Through a national open call, Bio to B selects a group of projects that are guided through a dedicated development process and publicly presented to producers, publishers, rights managers, literary agencies, IP and talent scouts, story editors, and professionals from film, television, broadcast TV, and OTT production companies, with the aim of fostering meetings, option agreements, and development opportunities.
The selected authors take part in a pitch preparation program and present their projects during the Showcase, followed by an award ceremony and networking opportunities with attending professionals (one-to-one meetings).
Projects will be evaluated based on the quality of writing, originality of the concept, narrative strength, and production potential. Selected authors will receive accreditation to Bio to B | Drama, which includes participation in the Showcase to present their project to accredited industry professionals, as well as access to networking activities, panels, and industry content. Attendance is required for the entire duration of Bio to B – Industry Days | Drama (June 8–9, 2026, Bologna).
Do you know what’s new this year? The projects of Fiction Factory will be selected by an exceptional jury: screenwriter Lisa Nur Sultan (Call My Agent – Italy and Studio Battaglia), journalist and TV author Alessandro Garramone (Wanna), and author Giulia Scomazzon (8.6 Degrees of Separation, published by nottetempo).

We are proud to announce a new and prestigious collaboration for Bio to B – Industry Days | Drama: the Giorgio Bassani Foundation joins the Fiction Factory Audience Award, which officially becomes the Bassani Award.
An author who more than many others embodied the dialogue between writing and images, Giorgio Bassani transformed literature into cinema with works such asIl giardino dei Finzi-Contini, Gli occhiali d’oro and Una notte del ’43, all adapted into celebrated films. The bridge he built between literature and audiovisual storytelling perfectly represents the transformative tension that the Fiction Factory Showcase aims to promote. On the 110th anniversary of the writer’s birth, the Bassani Award is created to celebrate this vocation and will be granted to the best original concept capable of living both on the page and on the screen.
The selected project will receive a €1,000 financial contribution dedicated to development.
With your original concept, you could win the Bassani Award!
