EP.01 - Dare la vita per i propri amici (32')

Emilia Romagna, May 16, 2023. “It was very cold and the water was almost up to my chest. I remember the children's lips: they were purple. The cold is brutal because it slows down your thoughts. I held the children in my arms, praying for the water to stop.” It is at that moment, as her cell phone is about to die, that Maria Chiara manages to type a message. She would like to say so many things to her mother, to her best friend. Before the screen goes off, Maria Chiara quickly writes the only thing she wants to ask her loved ones. “Pray for us.” 9:54 p.m., the time of this last post. Then nothing more.

EP.02 -  Essere pronti a tutto (32')
Emilia Romagna, May 16, 2023. “We entered the house, the family was there. They were scared to death. Water had flooded the first floor. That's when I noticed the girl.” Giorgia is in the middle of the room with Roberta next to her. The first one is holding Jenny, her one-year-old niece. Roberta is clutching something tiny to her chest: it is Diego, wrapped in a blue blanket. He’s only 45 days old. The water around them is rising, overturning furniture and chairs... The firefighters are speechless. 20 meters above them, a six-ton helicopter is hovering, waiting for information. Ennio grabs the radio: “Guys, we have two children... They're very small.”
