Susanna Egri, 99, dancer, choreographer, and teacher of Hungarian origin, lives in Turin. Her choreography Istantanee was the first experimental broadcast on RAI in 1953. Three traumas marked her life: the racial persecution she suffered in Hungary in 1944, the tragic death of her father Ernő Egri Erbstein, famous coach of the Torino soccer team, in the Superga plane crash in 1949, and the failure of her marriage to an Italian man. Driven by a desire for harmony, understanding, and peace, she founded a dance company with which she created memorable choreographies. Even today, after a 75-year career, her dedication to art and teaching remains unwavering.
