Toni, mio padre: from Bio to B to Archivio Aperto for the Bologna Premiere

After the success at Bio to B 2023, where it received the Fipadoc Award, and its participation in Venice 82, Anna Negri’s biographical film Toni, mio padre will premiere in Bologna during the 18th edition of Archivio Aperto.

The screening will take place on September 26 at 9:45 PM at Cinema Modernissimo (Piazza Re Enzo, Bologna), followed by a conversation with the director.

Toni, My Father is a deeply personal, biographical and autobiographical film, where the present intertwines with interviews, home movies, photographs, and my Super8 footage shot from the age of sixteen onwards. These materials tell a personal story into which official History forcefully entered, evoked through television archives and newspaper headlines. The challenge for me was to narrate such a layered life while identifying its essential features.
