Today sees the start of the 2024 edition of Bio to B - Industry Days, the audiovisual market that Biografilm dedicates to film and television players. An annual appointment of sales, option, purchase, networking, updating and training, featuring the most interesting authors and producers of documentaries on the European scene. A parallel programme organised by Ji.hlava IDFF and supported by the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission will also be held for the first time within Bio to B: the third session of the Emerging Producers programme dedicated to film distribution, which will also see the inclusion of 10 selected producers from Emilia-Romagna.
The programme on 10 June promises to be very full.
At 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at the DAMSLab Auditorium will be held the first two PITCHING SESSION, the presentation of five documentary projects in the making, led by Pitching Forum coordinator Guido Casali. Also in the DAMSLab Auditorium will be held at 3. 00 pm the PANEL "10 YEARS OF THE CINEMA LAW OF THE EMILIA ROMAGNA REGION AND THE REGIONAL FINANCING SYSTEM AS A FUNDAMENTAL SUPPORT FOR THE ITALIAN PRODUCTION SECTOR2, during which will speak Fabio Abagnato (Director of the Emilia-Romagna Film Commission), Valeria Beraldo (Public Funding & Strategic Partnership of the Greenland Group), Luigi Lonigro (Director of 01 Distribution and President of Unione Editori e Distributori Cinematografici ANICA), Paolo Manera (Director of Film Commission Torino Piemonte and Vice President of Italian Film Commissions) and Andrea Romeo (Founder and Editorial Director of I Wonder Pictures).
At 4.30 p.m. there will be a special B20 LC10 celebration: happy birthday! during the NETWORKING COFFEE in the DAMSLab Hall.
Also, at 5 p.m. there will be the highly acclaimed MASTERCLASS "FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT, KEEP THE FAITH. FROM INDEPENDENT CINEMA TO AMAZON STUDIOS AND BACK" held by Ted Hope, Producer and Founder of Amazon Studios. Followed by a Q&A by Massimo Benvegnù, Co-Artistic Director of Biografilm.
Meanwhile, in the Theatre Room of the DAMSLAB the ONE- TO- ONE meetings will take place, reserved to the Decision Makers and creative teams of the projects in the official selection for the Pitching Forum
In parallel, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., the DAMSLab Spazio Cinema will host the EMERGING PRODUCERS JI.HLAVA IDFF PROGRAM curated by Marek Hovorka (Festival Director), Jarmila Outratová, (Head of Industry Office), Irena Taskovski, (Taskovski Film Founder and CEO), Paolo Benzi, (Okta Film Founder and Producer).
The evening concludes at the Cinema Lumiere (Sala Scorsese) for the SCREENING & PANEL, with the 8 pm screening of the film BEING OLA by Ragnhild Nøst Bergem in the presence of the director herself and the protagonist Ola Henningsen. The film will be attended by: Valeria Cotura, representing FIADDA; Marzia Macchiarella, in the board of directors of Women In Film, Television and Media Italia, a communication and media professional specialised in Disability and Diversity Management; Anna Petrus, Artistic Director of DocsBarcelona and member of the board of directors Dones Visuals.
Between one appointment and another, Bio to B invites you to take part in NETWORKING moments (coffees, lunch and cocktails) in the DAMSLab Hall.
