Hors du temps by Olivier Assayas opens the 20th edition of Biografilm

The 20th edition of Biografilm will open with Hors du temps, the new film by Olivier Assayas, following its premiere in competition at the Berlinale 2024. The film takes us to the French countryside at the beginning of the pandemic, where two brothers with their respective partners spend “out of time” the period of isolation.

Director Olivier Assayas will be in Bologna on June 7, 2024 to present the film and receive the Celebration of Lives Award, a recognition we give each year to people whose lives and works have made an important mark on art and society.

Biografilm's artistic directors Chiara Liberti and Massimo Benvegnù: “We are happy to award the Celebration of Lives Award to Olivier Assayas, a director and all-round filmmaker much loved by Italian audiences, on the occasion of the Italian premiere of his most autobiographical film, made of sharp observations on contemporaneity but also of journeys into memory and memories attached to the places of his childhood.”

The film will then be released in Italian theaters with IWonder Pictures.
