The lone girl

by Marco Amenta

Biografilm Italia

(Italy / 2019 / 84’)

Amidst the colours of the Tuscan countryside lives a woman who has decided to pursue her father's business alone, throwing herself body and soul into a job that has fallen into oblivion. Roberta is a buttera: a difficult profession, dominated by men, to be carried out in a wild environment, poised on the edge of a more or less constant economic uncertainty. A story of love and devotion to a majestic, ancient land. When everything seems lost and even her mother advises her to give up, Roberta doesn’t lose heart and keeps on running towards a wonderful sunset in the Tuscan hills. Alone against everything and everyone, she can rely only on herself. In the name of an invincible ideal: freedom.
