Bologna, June 2018. Lo Stato sociale is performing in Piazza Maggiore, the same band that brought the Italian indie on the stage of Sanremo. Briefly getting off from the stages of the whole country, the group defines its identity in this documentary by Paolo Santamaria, telling of their precious relationship with the square and the magical city that revolves around it. Through interviews with personalities such as Matilda De Angelis, Gianni Morandi and Luis Sal, combined with hilarious archive images selected by Bologna-based directors Mellara and Rossi, the music becomes the protagonist of an unforgettable show in the middle of one of the most iconic squares in Italy. In the background, the "red city" is transformed and teems with life.
