5 international Decision Makers, 19 selected projects to be presented to an audience of professionals from European cinema
BIO TO B | DOC & BIOPIC BUSINESS MEETING is an annual event, within Biografilm Festival’s programme, dedicated to networking business to business between media and film professionals through a schedule made up of pitching sessions, panel, workshops, meetings one to one. The aim is promoting and supporting European and Italian productions – with a particular attention at those produced in Emilia-Romagna – on the national and international scene of documentaries.
For its sixth edition have been selected 19 projects of either documentary or fictional biographies / biopics feature films (intended for theatrical release), European productions or co-productions which are in the final stages, either in production or rough cut, competing in the assignments of three grants: Best European Project, Best Italian Project, Best Project from Emilia-Romagna.
This year the grants will be assign by a jury formed by the following decision makers: Catherine Le Clef – President, Cat & Docs, France; Nicola Allietta – Senior Distribution Manager, Sweet Chili Entertainment, Denmark; Carole Baraton – Co-Founder and Sales Director, Charades, France; Sabine Bubeck-Paaz – Commissioning Editor, ZDF/Art, Germany; Lorna Lee Torres - Head of International Sales, Magnolia Pictures, USA.
Bio to B is pleased to confirm again this year the partnership with DOK Leipzig for whom director Leena Pasanen will award a prize to one of the selected projects: an invitation at DOK Leipzig and its Industry Programme.
We are also proud to announce that the "Make It Real"- Bio To B Award 2019, dedicated to cinema professionals who have most distinguished themselves internationally in film production and distribution, will be presented to producer Diane Weyermann, as part of the special tribute that this year Biografilm Festival dedicates to the Canadian production company Participant Media on the occasion of its 15 years of activity.
