Amal is just 14 years old when she goes to Tahrir Square during the Egyptian Revolution. Just covered by her purple hoodie, she doesn’t seem afraid and faces every risk, showing her brave soul. Indeed, not without reasons, her name means “hope” in Arabic. Following her through the Cairo’s streets, the film shows her difficult childhood, her furious adolescence, her first love and her projects for the future. Through a touching tale, Amal’s story is bound to the one of an entire community. The disillusion of the Arabic youth is showed by a feminine perspective and the result is a powerful and deep story, full of thrills and dreams.
