In Santiago de Chile, love blossoms between Orlando, a textile entrepreneur on the verge of sixty, and Marina, a young aspiring singer. But when he dies suddenly of an aneurysm, the harshest reality rages into their idyll, embodied by Orlando’s ex-wife. Because there is a problem: Marina is transgender. And for her relationship with Orlando to be recognized, she will have to fight against the commentary of bigoted attitudes and against her own painful emotional exile. Winner of the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay, Sebastián Lelio's new film is a love story that has running through it, like a solid backbone, reflections on identity and the society’s judgement.
