The anthropologist Fosco Maraini and the painter Topazia Alliata, with their daughters Yuki, Toni and Dacia arrive in Japan in 1938. Refusing to adhere to the Republic of Salò, they end up in a prison camp. Today, the granddaughter Mujah recounts this family story, a fragment of collective history. Original score by Oscar® winner Ryuichi Sakamoto and set design by Basil Twist, inspired by the Japanese sliding screens theatre dogugaeshi.
